BEGINNER LESSONS
WindSense no longer offers lessons, but lessons are available locally and can be scheduled thru our webpage. See below:
Windsurfing Basics is designed to have you windsurfing safely and quickly. This is a private 2 to 4 hr lesson, taught at Lake Lanier. The lesson covers safety, rigging & handling equipment, understanding the wind and points of sail, getting under way, steering, returning to shore, rules-of-the-road and how to continue in the sport. All equipment is provided. You only need to bring water shoes, a snack and water.
Lessons are available from May through September.
Lessons are normally held at OLD FEDERAL Park. From Atlanta, take 85 North to 985 North to Exit 8, Friendship road. Go LEFT on Friendship road for 2.5 miles, RIGHT on McEver road for about 5 miles to the third light, turn LEFT on Jim Crow Road which becomes Old Federal Road, for about 2.5 miles. Take the second RIGHT after the PopStop store, to the Old Federal BOAT RAMP and BEACH, not Old Federal Camp Ground.
