RECENT SESSIONS
Wednesday, 2/17 - Good day, cold but windy. I sailed my 6.0 and 115 liter board. Other sailors, Randy, MARCEL, Barrett and Chris P sailed 5.2 to 7.0 sails. Fun factor, 8 of 10.
Saturday, 2/06 - Cold but not Raining for a change. It was blowing hard to start, Randy (4.5) and I (5.2) got the best of it. Then it slacked off some and Joe, Jim, and Chris P came out on 7.0, 6.5 abd 5.7, Randy and I called it a day, too cold to re-rig. Wind was around 30 to start, and then around 20-25, had some North in it, but was cloudy and cold, 36 degrees. We also had a kiter, Patrick, who did well on a 12 meter kite. I'd give it a 7 of 10, due to the COLD. It was a good day.
Tuesday, 1/26 - Really good day, but Cold. Wind was 15-30, and tempts was low 40s but was sunny. Steady wind, nice ramps. I sailed my 6.0 and 115 liter. Other sailors were Jim C, Barrett, Chris P, and Bill Austen (new guy who did fine in the high wind.) Sail sizes were around 6.0s except Bill on 5.2. Fun Factor, 8 of 10, almost a 9 except for the cold. There was more wind on Monday but I couldnt make it.
New Years Road Trip - Cape San Blas, 12/30-1/02, not too good. Camping trip and rained first two nights, then next morning was in the low 30s, came back a day early. Did get one day of Kiting on 12 meter, and made a few runs on Al Luthringers 100 liter/6.0 sail. Other sailers besides Al were Barrett and his brother Phil, and David Wade. Fun factor, 3 of 10, and only that high because of Kiting.
Monday, 12/28 - 6.0/115, good wind but cold. Other sailors were Barrett, Pat Park and Chris P. Chris's fin broke in the middle, I towed the Kona to him (Pat's idea,) swapping the rig was tuff with the chop, should have put on a mechanical base. When derigging, mast sleeve was frozen. Overall, good day, fun factor 7 of 10.
Sat, 12/19 - Decent Wind, 10-20+, but Cold, mid 40s. Other sailors were Randy, Barrett and Chris P, and sail sizes were 6.0-5.2. I rigged my 7.5 to start, way too much, then rigged down to 6.0, was good for awhile, then not enough. I had a hard time getting out of our regular launch, even though the wind had a little north in it. I came in and re-lauched from the swimming beach which seemed alot better. Fun actor only 6 fo 10, even though there was decent wind, just not a good day.
Thurs, 12/10 - 6.0/115 ltr - Another good day. Not as strong as yesterday but still WINDY. 5.2 or 6.0? I rigged my 6.0, the first run was scarey, came in and flattened it out and it was good the rest of the session. The direction had a little north in it but was mainly west. It was a little chilly (low 40s) but not bad while sailing. Planed pertty much all the time (except for while jibing,) Big Ramps, BIG FUN! Pat Park rigged but didnt sail and David W dropped by but thought it was alittle too cold. Anyway, I'll give it a fun factor of 8 out of 10, mainly due to sailing alone and the cold. It was a good day.
Wednesday, 12/09/09 - 5.2/115 ltr with small fin, What a day! Warm and Very Windy. Time...Wind.........Tempt 4:00...W 23 G 36...62 3:00...W 23 G 36...63 2:00...W 24 G 37...63 1:00...W 25 G 38...63 Good crowd, Good Fun! Some of the sailors included Marcel, Trey, Joe O, Chris P, David D, David W, Barrett and Son Evan, Scott Spreen, Kim Watkins, Chris V, Bill (?) and Phil (?), and maybe a few I missed. Sail sizes were from 4.5 to 6.0, did have a wind shadow, but once out in it, it was fairly steady, big ramps, BIG FUN. FUN FACTOR 9 OF 10! Also, Chris Voith clocked 33.3 mph on his GPS today riding a 5.5 Ezzy Infinity and his 120 liter Explosion. He Is Fast.
Saturday, 12/05/09 - 6.5(Tims)/115 ltr, Cold but FUN! Good Crowd, Good WIND! Other sailors included Randy, Barrett, Jim C, Chris P, Joe O, Alain, Al L. Finally some Wind, 8 of 10!
Thurs, 12/03 - 7.5/115 ltr. Another Good day. 7 of 10.
Monday 11/30 - 7.5/115 ltr, Finally some wind, joined by Chris P, Barrett, & Jim C, sailed until dark, de-rigged by full moon. 7 of 10.

Sunday, 3/29/09 - Pretty good day at Van Pugh, but not too many sailors (6 or 7) for a windy weekend day, with alot of the regulars missing. It was kind of cold, mid to high 40's, and overcast, but it didnt feel too bad. It was Windy, with sail sizes around 6.0. I sailed 6.0 and 115 liter Tabou Rocket. Fun factor 7 of 10.
Mon, 3/23 - Thurs, 3/26 - Fla Kite Trip - Jerry F and I kited at Titusville and Cocoa Beach for a few days, I had one real good session, and one OK session and 4 not so good sessions with 3 walks of shame. Still, fun trip and making progress.
Monday, March 2 - After a weekend of promised wind that didn't come, we finally had some sailable wind. It was kind of cold, low 40's, but still fun. The sun definitely helped. Barrett, Marcel and I sailed 7.0s/7.5s. The North West wind was steady for Lanier, around 20 mph, + or -. instead of the usual 10-25 range. I sailed my 7.5 / 115 liter and give it a 7 out of 10 on the fun factor scale.
Sunday, 2/22 - Wind on the weekend, sunny but chilly. Joe O, Jeff K, Alain, Chris P, Marcel and I sailed around 6.0s, with Jeff rigging down to 5.2. The 6.0s were a little big at times. The crowd was less than normal for a weekend as several of the regulars were out of town. I sailed my 6.0 and 115 liter, and had a fun factor of 8 of 10.
Thursday, 2/19 - Joe O, Matt, Barrett, Marcel, Chris P, Alain, and I FINALLY sailed a windy day. It has been a slack winter season so far. Sail sizes were 5.0-6.0(Alain) with the most sailors on 5.0s. It was real windy, then slacked off for awhile and then came back up. I got caught on my 86 liter board in the lull and it took about 15 minutes to get water-started, although it seemed more like an hour in the 47 degree water. I also had a hard crash on a speed run doing over 30 MPH (30.6 per the GPS.) No damage done. I was on my 5.2 and 115 liter (mainly) and 86 liter boards. Fun Factor 7 out of 10.
Tuesday, 2/03 - Barrett, Marcel and I sailed Van Pugh. It was very WINDY, with some wild gust (airport hourly had a 40 mph.) We started on 6.0s, Barrett went down to a 5.2, but we all agreed we could have been on 4.5s part of the time. I visited the Aqualand side twice. On my initial run out, I discovered it was Windy. Way too windy to attempt to jibe, so I had to flatten out my sail. Then on my last run, I got caught way overpowered, to the opposite shore again, this time to wait it out looking for a lull in order to get back. I sailed my 6.0 and 115 liter Tabou Rocket (I do like that board). It was fun, I'll give it an 8 out of 10 on the fun factor scale, mainly because it was crazy out there. I also clocked a 32.0 on my GPS, almost a new personal record. Friday, 1/30 - Windy and cold (gust in the low 30s and temps in the low 40s) and very tough sailing to start. When it filled in later in the afternoon, I was too tired to sail for long. Sailors were Alan S, Marcel, Chris P, Barrett and me. Everyone ran around 5.0, I sailed my 5.2 and 115 liter. My Fun Factor was 7 of 10, tough to start, cold, but it was WINDY.
Sunday, 1/18 - Wind was not much, around 10-15. Randy, Chris V and I sailed and Randy and Chris planned a good bit, me not so much. I was a little small with my 7.5 and 115 liter board. Randy was on his 7.5 and his HyperSonic (can plane with no wind,) and Chris was on his 9.5 and the North Shore Maui board (160?180? liter.) I had a new NP Elite wetsuit I wanted to try out or I probably would not have sailed. the suit is pretty warm. My fun factor was 3 of 10.
Thursday, 1/08/09 - Another Great Day. Not as windy as yesterday but Windy with gust into the 30s. And it was Sunny. We had a decent crowd, with Alan S, Jim C, Barrett, Marcel, David W and me. Sail sizes were 6.5 to 5.0. I sailed my 6.0 with 115 liter board (and set another personal best on my GPS (see left.)) I was over powered some of the time and had to flatten it out while some sailors rigged down to 5.0/5.2s. I missed it but Marcel's 6.0 Ezzy Wave got away from him on the beach, went flying thru the air and hit a pine tree about 15 feet up. No damage done, those Ezzys are TUFF. Two hard days in a row! Fun Factor 8 of 10.
Wednesday, 1/07/09 - It WAS WINDY! A great way to start 2009. 6.00...W 18 G 32...44 5.00...SW 30 G 41...45 4.00...W 18 G 28...47 3.00...W 22 G 39...48 2.00...W 26 G 43...47 1.00...W 25 G 35...45 Noon...W 25 G 33...47 Trey, Chris P, Barrett, Chris V and I sailed, sail sizes 5.8 (Trey the animal) to 4.5 (me the wimp, I did sail my 5.2 also.) It WAS WINDY, at times VERY WINDY, and FUN! II clocked my best ever GPS speed of 31.2 MPH on my 5.2 Ezzy Wave Panther and 115 liter Tabou. Fun Factor, 9 of 10.
Wednesday, New Years Eve, 12/31/08 - Good Forecast on Semi-Holiday, so Good Turnout. Somewhat Windy with alot of North in it, and kind of cold. 6.0s were the call to start but dropped off some as the day went on. I joined Kiters Mark and Mel and actually made a few runs. This is the first time I actually rode the board at Lake Lanier. And, no damage done, no one got hurt and I didnt have to swim back. I sailed my 6.0/115 liter and my 12 meter kite. Fun factor 10 of 10 due to kiting!
Sunday, 12/21/08 - We had a killer day starting with 5.0s and 5.2s, and finishing on 4.5s & 4.7s. It was a little chilly but only when you stopped. We had a decent crowd, with some early and some later. I sailed my 5.2/115 ltr and 4.5/86 ltr. Fun factor 8 of 10. Then Club Christmas Party, what a great day!
Friday, 12/12 - Nice day, blew pretty hard. Sail sizes 7.5 to 6.5, Other sailors were Joe O, Barrett, Chris V, and Matt. I stayed on my 7.5 and 115 liter, although the sail got a little big. Fun factor = 7 of 10.
Thursday, 12/04/08 - Pretty Windy, lots of fun! I sailed my 6.0 on the 115 liter, (see GPS at left,) Fun Factor 8 of 10. ???????? Tuesday, 11/18 - 7.5/115 liter, cold, sucked, 3 of 10,
Monday, 11/17 - 7.5 / 115 ltr, fun! Joe O and Barrett also sailed, fun factor 8 of 10.
Saturday, 11/15 - Lots of sailors, WINDY, had alot of South in it and it was hard to get off the beach. I sailed my 6.0 & 5.2 on the 115 liter and the 5.2 on the 86 liter. Fun Factor 8 of 10.
Wednesday, 11/12 - Missed it, rigged 6.0 on 115 liter, but it was too late.
Saturday, 11/8 - Lots of sailors, pretty windy, I sailed my 7.5 and 115 liter, Fun Factor 7 of 10. ????????

Monday, Labor day, 9/01/08 - Sailed 7.5/115 liter, pretty good crowd, wind was little lite for me, bigger sails and floaty or Formula boards did OK. Marcel’s friend had to be rescued by Sheriff’s patrol, as far down wind as I've ever seen (wind was from the east.) Also, Chuck Painter had an accident on his way home. He's OK but van was trashed. Weird day. My fun factor only 5 of 10.

I sailed my 6.0 and 115 liter and my new 86 liter Fanatic FreeWave (in August at Lanier.) Fun Factor TEN of TEN.
Friday, 8/22 - Another great day in August due to TS FAY. Sail sizes were mainly 6.0 +/-, stronger in the morning but blew all day. I sailed my 6.0 on 115 liter board. Big Crowd of around 20 Sailors. Fun Factor of NINE of 10, (Hard wind in AUG and lots of sailors.)

Saturday, 5/31 - Nice Day, some wind. It didnt blow hard but we had a good crowd sailing the big stuff.
